How we figure your junk removal quote
Every job is a little different. We look at three main things — volume, weight, and distance — along with the type of items and the labor involved. Here is what goes into an honest, upfront quote, with no hidden fees.
Three things we look at
We do not use a rigid formula or a hidden rate sheet. Instead, we consider the whole job in person and give you one clear, all-in price before any work starts. These are the factors that shape most quotes.
Volume
How much space your items take up in our truck.
Volume is the biggest single factor in most quotes. We look at how much of the truck your junk fills — from a single couch to a full property cleanout. Our 16-foot trailer is one of the largest in the county, so a single trip can carry more, which often keeps your cost down compared to multiple smaller loads.
- A few bulky items cost less than a full truckload
- Whole-home and estate cleanouts are priced by the load
- You only pay for the space your items actually use
Weight
Heavy, dense materials can affect the final quote.
Some items take up little space but weigh a great deal — concrete, dirt, brick, tile, and scrap metal are common examples. Because truck weight limits and disposal facility fees are based on weight, dense materials are sometimes calculated by weight or bed-load rather than standard volume alone.
- Concrete, dirt, rock, and brick are evaluated by weight
- Scrap metal and large machinery may shift the quote
- Light household goods are almost always priced by volume
Distance
How far we travel to and from your location.
We are locally based and proudly serve Santa Cruz, San Benito, and Monterey counties. Distance factors in because drive time and fuel are part of every job. Jobs well outside our primary service area, or far from the recycling and disposal facilities we use, may be reflected in the quote — but most local pickups see no distance adjustment at all.
- Local Santa Cruz County jobs typically carry no travel adjustment
- Remote or out-of-area jobs may include reasonable travel time
- Distance to the correct disposal or recycling facility is considered
Other things we consider
Beyond volume, weight, and distance, a few details help us give you an accurate, all-in price up front.
Type of items
Specialty items — hot tubs, pianos, safes, large machinery — require extra crew, tools, or dismantling, which is factored into the quote.
Labor and access
Stairs, tight hallways, long carries, and difficult access add labor. We always quote the full job up front so there are no surprises.
Disposal routing
We sort for donation and recycling (about 87% diverted from landfill). Some materials carry facility fees that are part of honest pricing.
Honest pricing by the load
These ranges reflect typical volume-based pricing. Final pricing is always confirmed with a free in-person estimate — no hidden fees, ever.
Small
$139 – $349
Single items, small pickups, and light single-room cleanouts.
Medium
$349 – $650
Multi-room cleanouts, furniture removal, and moderate debris.
Large
$650 – $950
Full-property clear-outs and larger renovation debris loads.
Super XL
$950 – $1,195
Our biggest jobs — hoarding situations and large estate cleanouts.
16-foot trailer capacity. Our full loads use a 16-foot trailer — one of the largest in the county — so we can haul more in a single trip and pass the savings on to you.
